House of Lords Luncheon

The House of Lords Luncheon is one of the most popular events in the FBE calendar and sold out yet again this year, with more than 120 members and guests being seated for lunch. Sir Simon Milton, Deputy Mayor of London for Policy and Planning, spoke after lunch on the London plan and how the City is developing and Lord Howie simply gave us his views on life in his usual and most entertaining manner.

The weather was beautiful in London and therefore guests were able to go outside on to the terrace next to the Thames were the views are quite outstanding. A tour of the Palace of Westminster followed the luncheon and as always it gave an interesting insight into one of our more private political arenas.

Next year’s event has already been pencilled in for December 3rd; further details will be posted on the site when available early in 2010.

Bottom right shows a smiling Phil Laycock (National Chairman) wedged between Welsh Rugby legend, Gareth Edwards CBE, and Geri Boyd the event co-ordinator.
